ANCON Joins Accredited Chamber
ANCON are pleased to announce their newly appointed membership of Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce. Moving forward in developing new connections, enhancing the team’s expertise and increasing the company profile, the membership enables representation of ANCON with more than 1,200 organisations, collectively employing around 125,000 people across all sectors.
By working with one of the most proactive and successful Accredited Chambers in the South East, ANCON will build relationships with industry partners interested in developing the company’s breakthrough nanotechnological advances in the healthcare, security and air quality monitoring markets. Holding more than 100 events per year, ranging from informal networking to business exhibitions, membership with the Chamber enables ANCON to further benefit from local services, relevant events and global representation.
With their advanced research programme, ANCON is targeting its product development towards the healthcare industry in the form of the NBT, or Nanoparticle Biomarker Tagging technology. The technology provides a method for rapid early diagnosis of diseases like lung cancer, tuberculosis, and potentially the Ebola and Zika viruses, simply by checking a subject’s breath for chemical biomarkers that indicate the disease.
“NBT is very versatile. With further development it could be used to screen for diseases such as bowel cancer and later be reassigned to test for a range of other diseases when needed,” says ANCON Medical’s CEO, Wesley Baker, who is a member of the Royal Society of Medicine and Institute of Directors. “The Membership of Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce is an exciting step for ANCON, as it represents another positive step in the company’s development journey, and we look forward to supporting and benefiting from this huge, vibrant business network.”
ANCON is also a member of Medical Alley in Minnesota, where over 600 of the world’s medical device companies are located. Wesley believes that the opportunity for the company being located in Kent, UK and Minnesota, USA will benefit local communities economically in the coming decade and hopefully generate a closeness between both regions for other business relationships.
